Derek Chambers

Derek is a self-taught artist. Born in Ilford in 1937, he left school at fifteen and moved into the rapidly developing world of commercial design and advertising. His career encompassed graphic design, photography and illustration, working with top London agencies over a 40 year period. Retiring from the commercial world in 1993, Derek moved to Suffolk to concentrate on his painting and printmaking. Since then he has enjoyed considerable success as a professional artist and his work is widely shown, including Royal Academy Summer Exhibitions, National Print Exhibitions, The Mall Galleries and The Royal Watercolour Society, as well as many solo exhibitions. His atmospheric, sepia tinted etchings of Aldeburgh  and surrounding areas through the seasons have gained a loyal following amongst local residents and visitors from all over the UK.  As such, these limited edition prints are now highly collectable.
